Support & FAQ

Everything you need to get going with Workout Connect — how to import, edit, share, and run a guided session.

The short version. Snap a photo of a workout — a whiteboard, a printout, a coach's note — and Workout Connect turns it into a structured routine you can edit and share with your clients. Each client gets a guided session with a built-in rest timer.

Getting started

How do I import a workout?

Tap the + button on the main screen, then choose Import. Pick a photo from your library or a file from Files (PDF or plain text). The app parses it into a structured workout and shows you a review screen where you can edit anything before saving.

What kinds of workouts can it read?

Photos of whiteboards at the gym, printouts from a coach, screenshots from a PDF, pages from a training book, handwritten notes, or plain-text descriptions all work. If something parses incorrectly, you can fix it on the review screen — names, sets, reps, weight, rest, and notes are all editable.

How do I start a guided session?

Open a workout and tap Start. The app walks you through every set, shows the target weight and reps, and runs a full-screen rest timer between sets. A single tap moves you to the next set. Haptics confirm each completed set so you don't have to look at the screen mid-lift.

Can I edit or reorder exercises?

Yes. Tap a workout to open it, then tap any exercise to edit name, sets, reps, weight, rest, or notes. Long-press and drag to reorder exercises within the workout, or reorder workouts on the main list the same way.

For trainers

How do I invite a client?

Open Clients and tap Invite. Send them the invite link — once they accept, they appear on your roster and you can start sharing routines with them.

How do I share a routine with a client?

Open the workout you'd like to share, tap the share icon, and pick a client (or several). The next time they open the app, the routine is waiting for them. Updates you make later sync to their copy too.

Where do I see what my client did?

Tap any client to open their profile. You'll see every completed session with the actual weights, reps, and notes they logged — plus a history view that surfaces progression and gaps.

How do I set up payments for a client?

Open the client's profile and tap Set payment terms. Choose Package (a fixed number of sessions at a fixed price each) or Monthly (a recurring tariff with a chosen billing day). When a client pays, tap Log payment — the amount is prefilled from the terms, and you only confirm the received date. Cycles roll forward automatically at your local 9 AM on your billing day.

Where do I see payment history?

From the client's profile, tap Payment history under their payment card. You'll see every recorded payment grouped by year, with the amount, the cycle or package instance it belongs to, and any note you added.

Will I get reminded when a client is due?

Yes. Monthly clients trigger a "payment due" notification when their billing day arrives, and roll to overdue if a cycle finishes unpaid. Package clients notify you when their sessions run out. Everything is anchored to your device's timezone.

What about private notes on a client?

Every client profile has a Notes area only you can read — not the client. Use it for injuries, cues that finally landed, PRs to celebrate next session, or anything you want at hand before your next meeting. Tap New note to add one; long-press or swipe to edit or delete.

Subscriptions

What do Starter and Pro include?

Starter is $14.99/month or $149/year and supports up to 5 clients. Pro is $35.99/month or $369/year with unlimited clients. Both tiers include unlimited imports, routine sharing, history, and feedback features. Clients use the app for free.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through Apple. Open Settings on iOS, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and pick Workout Connect to change tier or cancel.

I lost my subscription after reinstalling.

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases to pull your subscription back in. As long as you sign in with the same Apple ID, your tier comes back.

Refunds?

Refunds go through Apple, not us. Open the receipt from your email, tap Report a Problem, and pick the transaction.

Troubleshooting

The import didn't parse correctly.

Fix it on the review screen before saving — every field is editable. If a whole workout came back wrong, take a clearer photo (good lighting, no glare, the whole routine in frame) and try again.

The import is stuck on “Reading workout…”

Most parsing finishes in a few seconds. If it hangs for more than a minute, your network is likely the cause. Cancel, check your connection, and try again.

The rest timer doesn't beep or vibrate.

Make sure the iPhone isn't in silent mode and that Workout Connect has permission to deliver notifications. The timer uses haptics and an audio cue at the end of each rest period.
